Dualogic / MTA Transmission Warnings

Ducato-Specific Issues
Fiat Ducato vans (X250 and X290 generations) have specific known issues including turbo actuator failures on the 2.3 and 3.0 MultiJet diesel (the electronic actuator goes out of calibration or fails entirely, causing limp mode), EGR cooler failures (causing white smoke and coolant loss), clutch wear on higher-mileage vehicles (especially motorhome conversions which run heavy), and the dreaded “juddering reverse” issue caused by clutch and dual-mass flywheel wear. Many Ducatos used as motorhome base vehicles accumulate kilometres slowly but sit for long periods, leading to fuel system and EGR issues from short-trip use.
ABS / ESP Warnings
Wheel speed sensor failures and brake light switch issues are common across the Fiat range. The brake light switch in particular is a frequent failure point and triggers cascading faults – check engine light, ABS light, ESP light, and inability to shift out of Park on automatic models can all be caused by a single failed brake switch.
